TERRY PEP RALLY
I don’t go to many Pep Rallies. However, I did attend Thursday’s Pep Rally. At first, it was very empty and a bit quiet aside from me and my friends talking. I was also expecting some loud music to be playing in the gym before the event started to get everyone hyped about the Pep Rally. Then again, we were one of the first ones to arrive at the gym, so they probably weren’t even there yet. Later on, more students filled the gym, the gym becoming louder, rowdier, and more crowded. It got so crowded that I started to feel claustrophobic from sitting in the middle of a very large and packed crowd. Eventually, the band arrived at the gym. I was actually excited because I’ve heard them play before and they do an amazing job at playing the instruments. While we waited on the bleachers in the gym, the cheerleaders were practicing while the band was preparing for their performances. After everyone had finally settled down in the gym, the Pep Rally began.
TERRY BAND
Back in 6th grade, I wanted to get into band mainly because one of my family members showed me a clarinet they used for their band class and showed me the basics on how to play a clarinet. Ever since then, I wanted to get into band. I may not be able to get into it now, but at least I actually enjoyed watching the B.F. Terry band perform in the Pep Rally. It was an absolute joy! The way that the band took popular songs and gave them an instrumental twist. It was very neat and they nailed it!
TERRY TUG O’ WAR
One of the first things that took place in the Pep Rally was the Tug O’ War game. They took a couple of students from two grade levels and put them against each other in Tug O’ War. The first Tug O’ War game was the sophomore students against the junior students. The juniors won against the sophomores and the freshman but lost against the seniors. I expected that outcome, but it was entertaining, nevertheless.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF KING AND QUEEN
Although, they did not announce who was the king or queen in the Pep Rally, they did announce it in the football game that took place after the Pep Rally that night. Jason Diez was announced as the king and Emma Dillard was announced as the queen. I was kind of disappointed that they didn’t announce it in the Pep Rally, but I guess there were some complications that made them decide to wait until the end of the football game to make the big reveal.
TERRY VOLLEYBALL GAME
Although the volleyball game was not part of the Pep Rally, I thought I’d give it an honorable mention. It was B.F. Terry against the Chargers. This shot was a picture I took of one of the players saving the ball while covering for the volleyball game. While the Terry Rangers tried their best, they lost to the Chargers. Hopefully, they will make a comeback next time around.
